Begins April 1ST. Maximum maturity is 24 months; interest rate is 9.5%. Maximum loan amount is $12,000.

How does a credit union work?

Cambridge Municpal Employees Federal Credit Union differs from banks and other financial institutions in that those who have accounts in the credit union are its members and owners, and they elect their board of directors.

Credit unions see themselves as different from mainstream banks, with a mission to be community-oriented and serve people, not profit. (Wikipedia, 2013)
