The Cambridge Municipal Employees Federal Credit Union welcomes new members.  Visit the Credit Union Office located at Cambridge City Hall to complete a membership application or call the office at 617-547-1900 for more Information.   Start your savings program with automatic deductions from your paycheck or take advantage of our loan programs. 

The Credit Union will be closing at 3pm on June 30, 2026 for quarter end close processing.

SPRING SPECIAL LOANS

Terms as follows:
Begins April 1ST. Maximum maturity is 24 months; interest rate is 9.5%. Maximum loan amount is $12,000.

Up to 100% of cost for up to 72 months. Must have been purchased as new (not used) car within 6 months of Credit Union loan application date (i.e. current or future year model previously untitled at time of purchase), with original financing through another funding source.

How does a credit union work?

Cambridge Municpal Employees Federal Credit Union differs from banks and other financial institutions in that those who have accounts in the credit union are its members and owners, and they elect their board of directors.

Credit unions see themselves as different from mainstream banks, with a mission to be community-oriented and serve people, not profit. (Wikipedia, 2013)
